“It is my pleasure to bring your greetings on the behalf of the Tau Zeta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated seated at Washington and Lee University. Tau Zeta is young, but mighty chapter that has been serving the Rockbridge and Lexington community for over 10 years since its chartering in 2011. We are continuing to strive to make a genuine and lasting impact in our community through service and other programmatic efforts.  

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded by nine college women on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908. We are the oldest sorority established by African-American women and we continue to perpetuate the vision and mission of our twenty founding pearls. Our international dedication to service and sisterhood has been continuously shown throughout the last 115 years as we are always on the forefront of addressing the black community’s needs. Under the leadership of our 2022-2026 International President, Danette Anthony Reed, the Tau Zeta Chapter is ready to SOAR to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.”
